August Twelve | Khruangbin

Learn how to multitask triads and scales to sound like two guitarists.

In an instrumental 3-piece band consisting of drums, bass and guitar, the guitarist has the dual role of holding down the harmony by outlining chords, whilst also being the melodic ‘voice’.

August 12 is a great example of how Khruangbin’s Mark Speer juggles triad and 7th chord voicings with minor pentatonic, major scale, and Mixolydian mode lines.
